Disc prosthesis

The disc prosthesis is implanted artificial disc between two vertebrae in the natural disc substitution of a person, whose flexible structure acts as a load distributor point and allows the harmonic motion of the spine. To replace the disc with a prosthesis of lumbar disc to encourage mobility, the use of prosthetic surgery is required. In addition, there are two types of dentures: full, made of steel (sometimes with a plastic part) replacing all components of the disk; and partial, that only replaces the disc nucleus is formed and various plastics. Lumbar disc prosthesis is being used increasingly in some patients with severe back pain (degenerative disc disease).
