Blepharoplasty, the combination of aesthetics and health

Blepharoplasty is the intervention of plastic surgery aimed at improving the functional or aesthetic defects of the eyelids. This is an intervention that may be superior (if it is surgery of the upper eyelids), lower (if it is the lower eyelids) or mixed when it comes to both eyelids.

To treat the upper eyelids, we eliminate the excess of the skin that, on occasion, makes it difficult to open the eye, and we usually eliminate the unsightly pockets present in older patients; all through a scar that is perfectly disguised and almost invisible. The fat pockets of the lower eyelids are removed through a conjunctival incision , which provides a quick recovery and an excellent aesthetic result.

Many times patients have real difficulty to open their eyes because of excess skin or have even lost the shape of the eye because of excess bag. In addition to improving patients' quality of life, blepharoplasty rejuvenates the eyes and corrects alterations that hinder the visual field.
