Angioplasty is an endovascular procedure that involves dilating a stenotic (narrow) or occluded artery or vein in order to restore blood flow and allow blood to flow back into the heart. It is a minimally invasive technique that can be done urgently or in a programmed way and is done under local anesthesia.
